Young children coping with serious illnesses often spend long periods of time in the hospital. Sometimes their parents can't be there all the time. You can make a snuggly little pillow buddy to accompany the child at all times.
Time Required:
1 to 3 hours
Materials Needed:
Permanent colored markers, fabric paint, or cloth stencils, Small pillowcases or fabric that can be stitched into a small pillow, Needles and thread or sewing machine, Non-allergenic polyfill
Steps:
Contact the nearest hospital that you know cares for children with cancer and other serious illnesses to see if a patient would like to receive your pillow-pal.
Use the markers, paints, or stencils to make pictures on the pillowcases.
Stuff the pillowcase with the polyfill and sew the end closed.
Send the pillow or deliver it to the hospital near you. If you deliver it, try to spend some time with the patients that receive the pillows.
