FamilyCares Bike Rodeo Event Ideas
May is National Bike Month and as the weather gets warmer, more children and families will spend time outside riding bikes. Riding bikes is a great way to exercise and a great activity to do as a family. Most of us have fond memories of receiving our first bike, and the independence and fun it gave us. Your family can help other children locally and globally by recycling your bikes and/or staging a neighborhood bike rodeo for fun and to share tips on bicycle safety.
- Do a relay race to see who is the fastest.
- How about who can ride the slowest without falling over?
- Do a barrel race around cones or trashcans.
- Ride to a bucket or trashcan and drop a beanbag (or any small object) into it.
- Ride to a chair or upside down trash can and pick up a beanbag.
- Ride a specific distance to a hula-hoop, get off, hula 5 times and ride back.
